Ray Warren was born in Bristol on 23rd June 1918 and would spend his entire 20-year career from 1936-1956 playing for Bristol Rovers. He made 450 appearances for Rovers scoring 28 times from Centre-Half, had it not been for the war this impressive total would have perhaps been exceeded. Ray was a one club man who captained the side to the 1952/53 Third Division (South) title.
